Frequently Asked Questions about United Moments Supervision and Supervision Services

What is supervision?

Supervision, sometimes called supervision contact or supervised visitation, is an arrangement where child/ren spend time with a parent or family member in the presence of an independent third party known as a Family Time Worker or Family Time Supervisor. To read more about this, click here.

How long does it take to start visits or services?

United Moments Supervision aims to commence services as soon as possible. There are no waiting lists. For more information on our service, click here.

How much do you charge for your services?

United Moments Supervision is one of the best priced supervision services offering a flat rate of $320 for a minimum 4 hour visit.  This includes a written report. There are no other hidden costs such as travel fees, tolls or surcharges for weekends or public holidays. We also offer supervised video and phone calls as well as changeovers. Why is there a minimum 4 hour visit?

United Moments Supervision does a minimum 4 hour visit for two reasons: 1. It ensures that we can keep our hourly rate as low as possible ($80 per hour) while still providing a high quality service; and 2. While the court often orders only 3 hour visits, the extra hour can often make the visit smoother for children as it gives them time to settle into the visit with the parent and then a longer window to help with a smoother end to the visit. There is still the option to allow only a 3 hour visit, but United Moments Supervision will still charge $320 flat fee - still considerably less than what other supervision agencies charge for a 3 hour visit.

What areas do you provide supervision?

United Moments Supervision can currently facilitate supervised visits across Western Sydney, Windsor, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow areas.   Please do contact us if you live outside of these areas because we may be able to provide our services in your area. However, if United Moments Supervision is unable to provide services in your area, we can help point you toward other affordable and reputable supervision providers that may be suitable for your family.

Am I allowed extra time or additional visits if it's not in the Court Orders?

Yes, provided the parent/party the child resides with agrees to extra time or additional visits.
Family Court Orders usually reflect what the parent has asked the Court to order.  So, whilst families are to follow Court Orders, both parties can agree to additional time or other agreements/arrangements outside of the Court Order.

Who else can attend supervised visits?

Supervised visits can be attended by other family members or friends provided both parties are in agreement.

I've had a really bad experience with another supervision agency. How do I know you will be impartial and fair?

United Moments Supervision was actually created from hearing and witnessing endless accounts of a lack of professionalism, integrity and compassion in supervision agencies who charged exorbitant costs for a subpar service. When families are already going through an incredibly stressful and emotional time, you don't need additional problems from a supervision agency that often only facilitates a 3 hour fortnightly visit.  We believed there needed to be a better approach - one built on cost effectiveness, honesty, fairness , reliability and genuine care for the people involved. Our goal is to provide a professional and impartial supervision service that families can trust, and make it as cheap and as cost effective as possible so we can to help with the financial burden already placed on families that are required to have supervision. United Moments Supervision understands there are two sides to every story. However the purpose of a supervision service is to factually document what is observed between the child/ren and supervised parent during visits and provide a written report on those observations. It is not the role of the supervision service to get involved with the conflict between the parties or take sides.
